Project Objective
Deepening cross-border cooperation, promoting cultural values in the shared Carpathians through digitization. Root4Dig aims to deepen cooperation between technical universities by rediscovering our shared cultural roots and digitizing them for future generations, while developing soft skills of technical university students to promote cultural heritage in the border region.
The project implementation plans to organize joint events to preserve and promote local cultural traditions in Romania and Ukraine; conduct joint educational activities for students of two technical universities to foster cooperation in culture and intercultural dialogue; establish cultural centers in parallel at both universities and acquire equipment to digitize cultural values – our common roots, which will interest the younger generation and provide an opportunity to preserve cultural heritage; organize two student camps and an intercultural festival (in Romania and Ukraine), where students will jointly present their culture through art, music, dance, cuisine, etc.; conduct trainings, seminars, conferences, workshops, and other events.

Project Funding
The project is funded by the Interreg NEXT Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine (HUSKROUA) program with support from the European Union. The program enhances cross-border cooperation and sustainable development of the region by funding projects that bring together people, institutions, and communities across countries.
The project runs from March 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Total budget: €292,995.36. European Union contribution – €263,695.82.
